Many people who visit the Asheville area love a little nature with their vacation, but if you’re intimidated by the wilder trails of the state park or you didn’t have the space to bring your favorite bike, Biltmore has a solution for you. The gorgeous Biltmore estate has bikes available for rent for all types of trail-rides throughout the estate. You are guaranteed to see one of the most well-kept and beautifully maintained places in the Asheville area. If you did manage to bring your bike with you, you can take advantage of all of Biltmore’s trails with your admission into the estate.
We’ve already explored many of the great aspects of the Biltmore Estate, but this one is a more independent option, allowing you to explore the estate by yourself without restrictions. I’d suggest consulting with the staff to find out which of the trails on the estate will suit your desired difficulty level and go from there. Trails range from a meandering paved path that is safe and well maintained for all levels of riders to more challenging dirt paths that loop through the wooded areas of the estate.
Have little ones that can’t ride quite yet? Biltmore’s Bike Barn on the second floor of the Antler Hill Barn offers you a tag-along attachment for your bike so your little one can ride in style. This is especially helpful for younger families who might not be able to ride for several hours. For those of you without children or who have made other arrangements for them, you can rent these for bags, souvenirs, and the like so you don’t have to worry about being unable to carry them around. Ride down to the village and grab a bottle of wine to take with you on your journey. Stop at one of the beautiful sights along the trail for a picnic. It’s all possible on your Biltmore bike ride.
This was my favorite outdoor activity because it felt like I had the entire Biltmore Estate at my disposal and the freedom granted by the ride made me feel more like a guest than a visitor, which was very cool. Overall, it’s a really good time. Grab your bike helmet and a bike and head out to the Biltmore estate. You’ll be glad you did!
