If a relaxing Asheville vacation is what you’re after, you’re probably looking for somewhere to spend your vacation time. How about a hotel that is historical, nestled right against the Blue Ridge Mountains, and offers amenities like you wouldn’t believe? Sound good? It sounded good to me as well. The Grove Park Inn is really a resort experience more than anything else and I was lucky enough to explore everything that makes it the prime place to book for an Asheville vacation.
Driving up to the Grove Park Inn, you are immediately struck by several things. First, the inn itself is architecturally gorgeous. A stone facade and a terracotta colored roof harken back to days when it was a favorite stop for well-to-do travelers making their way to visit the Biltmore’s over a hundred years ago. The surrounding landscape also hints at that rich luxury and historical value with its mature trees and well-maintained foliage.
Everywhere you look there are friendly staffers willing and eager to provide guests with the sort of Grade-A experience resort travelers are accustomed to. The concierge service, in particular, is very dedicated to keeping their guests happy and they are very efficient in helping with outside travel arrangements or activities. They can also book you a tee-time for their world-class golf course if you’re interested.
If you really just want to relax, there is no better place in Asheville to do it. The rooms are meticulously maintained with all that southern charm and historical touches to make it feel more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Book yourself spa services from the get-go and really relax in between luxurious naps and sumptuous meals.
Speaking of spa services, you’ll never make it to the bottom of their list. This 43,000 square foot subterranean spa has the amenities of several spas built into one. Let me name a few of them; massages, hot tubs, pools, spa fitness area, aromatherapy, facials, and body treatments. Those are just the main categories, there are numerous subdivisions and specialty services available as well. If you have kidos, no worries, the spa offers children’s services.
There is no need to even leave the hotel if you don’t want to. In addition to several on-site retail shops that offer snacks, the four on-site restaurants have locally sourced food available for meals. Don’t feel like leaving the room? The Omni also has room service available.
If you’re thinking about having an event hosted here, keep in mind, the Grove Park Inn is very popular for special occasions. Plan ahead and make sure you book in plenty of time to ensure that you get the dates you need.
Overall, the Grove Park Inn is a gorgeous resort with many amenities and historical charm for any discerning visitor. If you’re looking for a place to stay, you might want to put this at the top of your list.
